Leslie Wingrowich in Calgary at the Monarch House Studios today, had Victoria Givlin her friend do photos for our 18th edition!
Victoria introduced us to her months ago, and now Leslie has an announcement!
IHW Book Club choice for August: Live Like You’re Not Scared - Leslie Wingrowich reads her introduction page for us:
“When Leslie was 19 years old, she was told by a public relations professor that she would never be a writer. When Leslie was 21 years old, she was told by a disgruntled ex-boyfriend that she would never marry the man of her dreams. When Leslie was 25 years old, she was told by a faculty of nursing staff member that she would never be a nurse. When Leslie was 34 years old, she was told by a neurologist that she would probably never walk again.”
Leslie is a former ICU trauma nurse, she is a successful rising Calgary based writer, she is married to the man of her dreams, mother of two, and not only does she walk, now she dances. To anyone who is told you can’t, Leslie would like to dedicate this book to you. May you always follow your dreams regardless of who tells you otherwise.It’s never too late to get back on the path your heart longs for.
